Uruguay Letter-ticket (whole) from the Uruguayan post office with a printed rate of 3 centesimo (postage due 5 1/2). Sent (19.2.1914) from Montevideo, where it was marked T for insufficient postage (-2½ c.). Addressed to Paredes de Coura - Portugal, it arrives at the Porto post office (11.3) where it was marked 050, double the amount of the missing fee, and forwarded to the destination post office (12.3.) where it was also handwritten T, 05 and the POSTAGE stamp was affixed with an overprint REPUBLIC of 50 reis = 5 cents, paid by the recipient. (Table of the time: 5 centimes of the franc 100 reis 10 centesimo, therefore 5 centesimo.) 50 reis/5 centavos).
