CUSTOM URUSHI FOUNTAIN PEN by Pilot - The use of the Roiro Urushi technique and classic lines, with a convertor filling system makes this fountain pen a simple yet elegant statement. Its rich deep black colour is adorned by the slightest bit of trim, making the pen look sleek and streamlined. The pen features a superb two-tone 18kt nib that glides effortlessly. Urushi, the black material forms the pen surface and is made from the sap of a Japanese lacquer tree. The process of collecting the Urushi (sap) and applying layers of lacquer is complex and lengthy. This technique, though meticulous, gives this fountain pen its deep lustrous sheen and has been used by Namiki craftsmen since 1918.
