Designed to commemorate the Beijing Opera, the Duke 14k 580 Gold Fountain Pen has traditional painted faces of characters from famous operas. The gorgeous cloisonné finish is done in a cobalt blue base (a close match for the sapphire jewels), which offers a warm background for the vibrancy of the face paintings and the 14K rose gold highlights, which were selected to convey the patina of antique copper. The raised wirework on the barrel is traditionally shaped to representclouds in the sky, while the old-style Chinese characterson the speak of the 200-year history of the Beijing barrel Opera and good fortune.
