Armour Indo -Persian shield convex form circular shape .Arabic inscription at bottom rim, from holy book Koran to invoke God's power and blessing to win battle at bottom rim . Made of hand forged steel hand hammered and hand chiseled. The surface has beautifully engraved medallions comprising engraved flower motifs .The shield bears an elaborate chiseled engraving over its surface with floral and creeper design. Four domed bosses chiseled with flower motifs connecting hooks at back. The shield is larger than usual shield , it measures 17 inches in diameter. The reserve of shield bears cloth cushion with 2 handles to hold. makes this shield adding dramatic detailing to this incredible piece of armor. An interesting shield showing the influence of other cultures. Circa Qajar period 18th.-19th. century..
