Province: Persian. . Made: Made of hand forged steel, hand hammered and hand chiseled. Central panel has Sun figure with Rays embossed. Border rim and some part of surface of shield bear an elaborate chiseled engraving with floral and creeper design.4 bosses engraved with bird figures, which make this shield unusual and rare. The reverse of shield has 2handles to hold & cloth padding. Shield measures 17 inches in diameter. Reserve of shield has thick cloth cushion & 2 cotton handles to hold shield. This makes this shield adding dramatic detailing to this incredible piece of armor. Condition: Good age related wear
