A RARE SIKH WARRIOR DHAL SHIELD GEM OF COLLECTION.Province : Asian. Made : Made of hand forged steel, hand hammered and chiseled. Brass plated, in convex form. A rare finding stunning Asian Sikh warrior shield with hand engraved four Sikh warrior figures representing Maharaja Ranjit sInghji. The special importance of this shield lay's on the image with which it is ornamental, contained with borders filled with animals. Four hand engraved figures representing the great Sikh leader MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH JI , his son SHER SINGH and two generals. The shield bears an elaborate chiseled engraving entire surface with floral &creeper design and has 4 doomed bosses. During research I have found that this listed dhal shield is comparable to shield dhal which is in collection with \"BIRMINGHAM ART GALLERY \". Back of shield has 2 handles to hold and has cloth cushion. Measurement : The shield is large than normal shield , it is 19 inches in diameter.
