1961 (29 Dec) Portuguese India stamps First Day used in combination with Map series stamps to Panjim, Goa. Annexation of Goa was an action carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in December 1961. In India, this action is referred to as the ”Liberation of Goa”. Stamps of India were first used 29 December 1961, although Portuguese India stamps were allowed to be used till 5 January 1962.
