Air India 29 May 1948 First Day Cover – both stamps tied by 29 May 1948 Bombay cds. The Air India International stamp was issued on 29 May 1948 but was only to be cancelled by the 8 June 1948 special postmark. In this case the stamps were erroneously cancelled and registered from Bombay GPO. Delivery and transits postmarks on reverse. Doubly rare as this is a registered cover and sent to the United States of America.
