Original design of the insignia of the Royal Order of the Tower and Sword engraved in the Royal Printing Office of Rio de Janeiro, published separately in 1809 and in the Códice Brasiliense in 1811. Note the laureate bust with paludament of the prince regent on the right, and the captions with the spelling “ BRAZIL” on medal N.1 and “BRAZIL” on medal N.3 (book, p. 46). It served as a standard for the manufacture of insignia in Lisbon at the Royal Army Arsenal. Very rare copy (with defects)
