Diocletian, 284-305. AR Antoninianus 4.05 g. Lugdunum (Lyon), 291. IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right but with the features of Maximian Herculius. Rev. SALVS AVGG / III Salus standing facing, head turned right, feeding serpent in arms. RIC 89. Extremely rare and very unusual coin that although the inscription states that the emperor depicted is is Diocletian, the portrait is clearly that of Maximian. About Fine. Ex. Savoca 123 lot 1105.
