Bahawalpur : Similar to what Pakistan did in August 1947, Bahawalpur ordered all existing stock of British India stamps (except for a fixed quantity that were sent to be machine overprinted) to be handstamped in either (a) black (b) purple (c) green or (d) red. In most cases only a handful of stamps exist with overprint in one of the four colors; some as few as 2-3 copies only. Collectively, this is the rarest group of King George VI stamps from the entire British Commonwealth. These are now listed in the Scott catalog. We are excited to offer such an in-depth collection of these handstamped issues. 1947 group of 11 stamps handstamped in green from ½a to 14 anna. Minor gum toning as found on all these handstamp issues. 2025 ISES certificate.
